Last Class..
It is 11.30 am in the morning. I should be in class now..enjoying my last class as a Degree student. Laughing or probably listening intently to my lecturer's lecture on Jurisprudence. Unfortunately, all of that are not meant to be as I can't even go to that class. Sigh. One accidental step on the bus can cause you that. Or to me, cause me to miss my final week of Degree life.
Let just say I fell and sprained my ankle. And oh, I am walking with crutches too. I don't have a broken leg, thank god. But still, not being able to walk much kinda makes you miserable. Truthfully, the seriousness of my injury has not dawn to me yet until the pain comes and ravishes my foot. All that determination of wanting to climb the stairs and hills of my faculty to attend classes just gone out with a smoke. Poof.
However, I try to think positively. There must be a reason behind all this. As one of my friend said, "Maybe God wants you to rest adequately for the finals". Sigh. I really hope so. Anyway, I learned new things. Like, how to 'walk' with crutches, trying to be more patient, how to register myself at the health centre, trying to do things with only one foot and also, learning to be grateful that my situation is not that worse compare to other people.
I also started to regain my faith in humanity and my friendship. When I fell, strangers come and helped me. They carried me & brought me to the health centre. My friends, helped me too. They bought me food, passed me the notes of the lectures I can't attend and they tried to bandaged my injured foot with a bandage even when we all never bandage any foot before. Most of all, they gave me encouragement and support. And I am forever thankful for that. Only God can repay your kindness. I am forever grateful. =')
So, I guess, me falling from a bus have its lessons after all. However, keep safe people. And always watch your steps when getting off the bus. Or you end up like me.

Now Go, Stop, Drop & Pause..
I realized that I will usually update my blog once a month & I didn't update last month. Oh well. Maybe I got nothing to share with you guys. Hee
Anyway, now I do have something to share with you guys, my readers.
Last month, I discovered a new love. It is called Zumba :)
Zumba is an aerobic fitness programme featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin America dance and performed primarily to Latin America dance music. Yeah, I googled that. LOL. However, from my understanding, Zumba is like a mixture of dance and aerobics. I admit though, the first class got me breathless and shaking that I thought 'I'll probably won't go to this class anymore' but, it is just so addictive. Plus, it is an all female class and the cost is within my budget as a student. So, I see there's no harm in it.
All in all, zumba have many health benefits. The fast paced movements are good for cardio and it helps to strengthen your muscle which makes your body more flexible and leaner. Even my mum said my body posture is getting better (yeah!). And me, being a music lover, learned a lot of new latin musics which are totally great. :D
Zumba also releases some stress for a student like me. There's not much stress reliever around my place and in zumba, I get to dance and burn calories at the same time. Therefore, me and my girls will go to this weekly class to have a great time and to blow off some steam.
Zumba is really fun and I highly recommend it to everyone. You'll be surprised how much you'll love it. :3
Here, I included a Zumba video which me & my girls recently followed in the class. And it is quite simple. Have fun! ;)

Bookworm IV
Due to not having any semester breaks because I'm doing a short sem, I only managed to read one book. Honestly, I bought the book ages ago but, being final year students.. we don't have free time that much.
Quiet : The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain
I bought this book because of the title. I was intrigued because I am an introvert myself and I wonder if this book can truly help me with my 'social awkwardness'. Truthfully, I thought I'm going to get bored of this book (for some reason, motivational books always bore me) but, I didn't. Yup, I didn't get bored of this book so, it proves that this book is worth reading. LOL.
Anyway, as seen by the title, this book is about introverts. It tells about how a person become an introvert and how they cope with it. There are scientific research and interviews done by the author which I found interesting. You can actually test if you are an introvert or extrovert as young as a few years old. It said that if you easily get irritated by new sounds or environment when you are a baby, it means you're sensitivity level is high thus, making you an introvert. It is vice versa to the extrovert.
It also teaches you how to cope in being an introvert. This is the section I find helpful because I can relate to it and the suggestions given are useful and logical. The author also mentioned some famous people who are introverts like Dr Seuss and Rosa Parks. She said that, introverts can also become loud and 'expose' themselves to public in giving presentations, demonstrations..etc without draining their energy. They just need a lot of time to be alone to rejuvenate. Now, I don't feel so guilty when I rather stay at home during weekend curl on my bed with a nice book and hot cocoa instead of going out to face the bustling and crowded outdoor. Heh.
That is all folks. Now, I have to continue with my studies. -___-

A Father Like No Other.. =')
Based on the posts on fb, I can conclude that today is Father's Day. Hey, don't get me wrong. It is not that I don't care about Father's Day, I love and care for my dad every single day that sometimes, Father's Day kinda slipped my mind.
So, a father. The first male figure that we know as soon as we are alive. There are some fathers that don't interact much with their children and I am thankful that my dad is not like that.
My dad plays a huge impact in my life. Plus, thanks to him, my interest in music, anime, manga, movies, and books started at a very early age.
I remembered when I was in kindergarten, he took me to watch Star Wars at our local cineplex(no longer exist unfortunately) In my polka dot dress and short length hair, I held his fingers as we entered the cineplex. That's where I get to know C3PO and R2D2. Not to mention the sound of Darth Vader's breathing and clashing light sabers. Although I understood little at that time, I know that I am interested in Star Wars and found them fascinating. My dad bought me a toy necklace with C3PO's head as the locket and I still keep it. Only C3PO's head though. Since then, I love animation and sci-fi movies.
Then, there's a memory where my dad was cleaning the house and he put on a Michael Jackson's Blame it On The Boogie music video on television. I was young too at that time and I believed it was even before I entered kindergarten. He was singing the song and imitating MJ while vacuuming the floor and me, being an easily amused child, laughed at his antics. He began to put on more songs and I learned the names of Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Kool and The Gang, Anita Baker, Tina Turner..etc. And probably trying to make sure I have a strong grasp on the oldies/music, he always questioned me everytime we listened to the radio. He will ask "Who sing this song?" and "What other song does this singer also sings?". My dad love the current songs too and he will always ask me the title of some songs he heard on the radio. He will also recommends songs to me which he finds nice.
My dad loves reading and probably because of that, he have many cupboards fill with comic books and story books. He proudly displays them at our home and most of my friends were flabbergasted to know the owner of the books. My friends thought they were mine. LOL. He encouraged us to collect comics and story books. Thus, my brother and I have our own bookshelves filled with our own book collection. I began to love manga and books because of him. And knowing my love for it, he bought me a graphic novel for my birthday. A gift that I proudly display on my bookshelves. So precious.
Alas, there are many more things that my dad had taught me which can't be explain by writing. He is the pillar of strength in our family. The person that calms everyone when we felt disturbed. The person that will crack jokes to light a smile on our face when the times are rough. The person with a great sense of direction to make sure we don't get lost when we go on a trip. The person that will give his children some junk food behind their mother's back to spoil them. The person who would do anything for his family to make sure they live comfortably.
Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I will always love you. I am forever your little girl. ;)

Fleeting childhood..
Row of bookshelves. Empty chairs and tables. Silence everywhere. Only the sound of the humming air conditioner and pages of books rustling can be heard. She cocks her head to the left. Groaning as she massage her sore right shoulder. The books in front of her stack on top of one another. She sigh. So many books to read. So much time have to be spent here. She closes her eyes. She breathes in..
*Little girl's giggling*
She opens her eyes in a shock. Did someone bring a kid in here?
*Little girl giggles again*
She turn her head to the sound of the sound of that giggle. However, she only manage to see fluttering of a curly hair at one of the bookshelf as the little girl run away from her. She raises her eyebrows. 'That hair..' Ahh, it's impossible. It can't be..
The little girl giggles again. It is eerie as the library is in dead silence. However, she is not afraid. The little girldoes not scare her. The little girl runs behind her. She turn her body to look at this mysterious child and only manage to glance at the back of a small chubby girl..wearing long dark blue pants and green cartoon t-shirt with a pair of black sandals. Her hair.. her hair that is long and curly at the end. The little girl run into one of the row in the bookshelves again. She stands up.
"Wait! Don't run away." she calls to the little girl. The little girl laughs again.
She run after the little girl. However, the little girl always seem to run faster than her. She run through the row of bookshelves with the laughter of the little girl echoes everywhere. As she manage to get close to the little girl, the laughter began to fade. The little girl then run to the left corner of the bookshelf. She speed up her running with the thought that she finally gets to see who is this peculiar child. As she turns left, she saw the little girl stops in front of a dead end. Her long hair stay still. She turns to look at this young adult that has been chasing her. The young adult gasp. The little girl is her. She is her..at the young age of five years old. Her heart skips furiously. It is truly surreal to be staring at yourself. Your young self.
The little girl smiles. There is something sublime about it. She is smiling but, her eyes look sad. The young adult is still in shock. She moves closer to the little girl. However, the little girl back away from her. Shaking her head slowly. She then raises her left hand and wave. She is still smiling and then, she say these words..
"Don't miss me.."
Slowly..like a fading sunlight, the girl disappears. The young adult slump on her knees. She just smile with tears running down her cheeks. She finally understand why she see that little girl. See her young self.
It is her childhood. It is saying goodbye.
The air conditioner hums again. The books stay still in their respective shelves. She stands up. She moves on to her seat. Move on with her life.

Growing Up..
I find it funny how this semester, I found myself thinking about things I don't usually think about before. I will not write them here..these 'things' that I have said. Maybe when the time comes, I will write them. It's weird..this feeling & thinking. I don't want to think & feel it. It is scary.
As I grew older, these thinking started to become constant. It just can't be helped when everyday life situations kinda remind me to think about it. I have to admit, these thinking changed my perspective a little that.. I decided to make this crazy decision. Haha.
This decision is kinda extreme. It is so extreme that I'm sure if anyone knows about it, they will go ballistic & try to persuade me to get out of that decision This decision of mine have been in my heart for quite some time now. Only now, due to a certain event.. I decided to do it.
How long will this decision stay with me? Well..maybe for quite a long time. :)
*If God's willing, this decision could be short-lived. Because truthfully..this decision is my last resort.

Internship..
It's a been a month and my internship at the state court has ended. Truth be told, I was not that keen on doing it at first. I was terrified! LOL. There were 7 of us and at that time, I only knew the 2 of them. I was afraid of the experience because I don't think I am capable of answering any law related questions from the court. Fortunately, after going through it, I found that it wasn't so bad after all. It turned out to be the best memories of my life. :)
What I have learnt cannot be found in books. I saw the harsh reality of crime. There's even sorrow in it, especially when you see the parents of the accused kissing their children who were handcuffed. Then, there were also accused who were children, sobbing & crying on the floor when their sentenced being read. I am not gonna lie, it takes a lot of strength to sit through the court proceedings without shedding some tears.
I learned about court procedures. I met lawyers and judges. They were truly a professional in their work. And did not mind to spare some time with us to give us tips and words of wisdom about the legal profession. Not to mention, there are also friendly interpretaters that patiently tell us anything we ask about law and trials that were going on at the moment. We were truly grateful for the knowledge they gave us.
And I also learned about my attachment mates. I felt guilty for judging some of them badly at first due to false rumours that I have heard. They turned out to be the nicest people ever. We all bonded & it felt like we were siblings. Since there were 7 of us, our personalities strike out differently. There's the quiet one, the funny one, the nagging one, the excited one, the endearing one, the wise one and the motherly one. Despite all that, we managed to cooperate and be as one. Through them, I learned what YOLO is all about. Heh. The crazy things we did, the outrageous stories we shared, the silly antics we showed and the all-the-time laughter that echoes. It was truly an experience that worth putting in any 'tonighttt-we-were-young' album. I'm proud and touched to say, after a month we spent together, I think our relationship has become closer.

I think I just summarize my internship experience in one sentence: It's not just about Law, It's also about friendship. =')

New Year..
It's already the new year of 2013, folks. :)
I know this is like other 'ushering the new year' post but, who cares. LOL.
Lots of things happened last year. Many things that tug my heart strings and make the person I am today. Not to mention the many 'welcome-to-the-real-world-life-lessons' that had to be endured and make me realized how, truly, scary the future is.
But, then again..that is just one of the rite of passage that we have to go through in our life.
My goal for this new year? Well, I guess is the same as any previous year.
Be a better & more independent person. :)
